Closed Roads

This page is intended to be a list of road closures that come to the awareness of the club. Please contact the PFW WebGuy if you know of closures; include the name of the road, the specific location of the closure (e.g., "at Aleph Crossroad", or "Between Beth Street and Gimel Road") and the reason if you know it, and the dates of the closure. If you don't know the end date, a date three months in the future will be assigned. Also please let the PFW WebGuy know of any changes.

Iron Bridge Road, Hamilton
"The closure affects Iron Bridge Road between Sawmill Road and Ellisdale Road, rendering this section impassable until further notice, officials said in a statement. Detours have been established to guide motorists around the area.

"Local authorities urge drivers to avoid the vicinity and follow the posted detour routes to ensure safety and minimize traffic disruptions. Further updates on the bridge's status and repair timeline will be provided by Mercer County officials."

Brookside Road
Bridge under repair Between Paint Island Spring and Stagecoach, near Paint Island Spring.  Able to cross on 3/30/24 – concrete work over stream complete, but both sides of bridge have muddy/sandy surface.

River Road Hillsborough
Reported: "HILLSBOROUGH – Motorists on River Road next to the South Branch of the Raritan River across from the Neshanic Station section of Branchburg will be facing a detour for the next eight months.

Construction on the section of River Road, or Somerset County Route 567, between the Elm Street Bridge and Picket Place is scheduled to begin March 25 with a tentative completion in December.

River Road is a connector between western Hillsborough and Route 202. The average daily traffic on the road is 2,868 vehicles..."
