Route 29 Cyclist Survey
Open Through August 31, 2025

The Delaware River Greenway Partnership, that supports natural and cultural resources along the Delaware River, has won a grant from AARP to conduct a cycling survey of NJ 29 to determine what measures could be taken to improve cycling safety on that road.  This organization has solicited the assistance of the Princeton Free Wheelers to help them gather data on cycling conditions on that roadway.

They have developed an online survey in Google Docs which they are asking cyclists to complete which will provide them with information for their survey which will be ongoing through the end of August. If you find yourself riding on Route 29 between Stockton and Frenchtown, please complete the survey. Although the survey parses the distance between these towns into three sections feel free to complete any or all the sections you can.

The survey and its instructions follow.

  1. Volunteer survey

Click HERE to open the volunteer Survey

(about your experience, equipment, etc.) - complete this only once

  1. Biking audit form

Click HERE to open the Biking Audit Form

- complete one form for each section you ride.  If you rode the entire 12-mile stretch, you would complete three audit forms.

  1. The route:

The biking audit covers a 12-mile stretch of Route 29 between Stockton and Frenchtown, divided into three sections:

  * *Section A: Bridge St. & North Main, Stockton, to Byram Kingwood     Rd., Kingwood (4.5 miles)

  * *Section B: Byram Kingwood Rd., Kingwood, to Kingwood Station Rd., Kingwood (4.4 miles)

  * *Section C: Kingwood Station Rd., Kingwood, to Trenton Ave. & Bridge St. Frenchtown (3.5 miles)

Multiple rides: If you wish to complete multiple audits, please choose different times than your previous rides. For example, if you cycled on a weekday at mid-day, try a weekday evening or a weekend ride next time.

Timing: The survey runs through August 31.
